1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Bindly website, applications, and services that link to it. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.
Insurance agencies and other business customers decide what insured and submission information to provide to Bindly. For that information, Bindly generally acts as a service provider or processor on the customer's behalf. The customer remains responsible for its own privacy notices, permissions, and legal obligations to insureds and other individuals.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and workspace information. Names, business contact details, agency information, license information, login details, team roles, and preferences.
- Insurance submission content. Information entered, uploaded, or collected through Bindly, including application answers, insured contact details, exposure information, forms, documents, signatures, and communications.
- Connected-service information. Data you authorize Bindly to receive from or send to services such as email providers, e-signature services, carrier systems, and other integrations.
- Payment information. Subscription and transaction details. Payment card information is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Bindly does not store full payment card numbers.
- Usage, device, and support information. IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, timestamps, diagnostic data, and the content of support requests.
We collect information directly from you, from people responding to a submission request you initiate, from connected services you authorize, and automatically through cookies and similar technologies needed to operate, secure, and understand the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve Bindly.
- Generate, validate, review, sign, and route forms and submission materials.
- Authenticate users and administer accounts, workspaces, and subscriptions.
- Connect with services and insurance markets at a customer's direction.
- Provide support and send service, security, and administrative messages.
- Understand product usage and develop new features.
- Comply with law, enforce our agreements, and prevent fraud or misuse.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose information:
- To service providers. Vendors that help us host, secure, analyze, support, communicate, bill for, and operate Bindly may process information under contractual restrictions.
- For advertising measurement. We use Meta Pixel to understand whether our advertising leads to site visits and completed account registrations, and to measure and improve campaign performance. Meta may receive device, browser, page-view, and event information under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not send insurance submission content through the pixel.
- At your direction. We share submission content with insureds, team members, e-signature providers, carriers, markets, or connected services when an authorized user instructs Bindly to do so.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of the service.
- In a business transaction. Information may be transferred as part of a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not sell personal information.
5. AI and model training
Bindly uses artificial intelligence to help collect, extract, organize, and validate insurance submission information. We do not use broker data, insured submission data, or uploaded documents to train foundation models. We may use de-identified or aggregated information to evaluate and improve product quality when it cannot reasonably identify a customer or individual.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business and security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it was collected. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Learn more about our current safeguards on our Security & trust page.
8. Choices and rights
You may update certain account information in Bindly, disconnect integrations, manage browser cookies, or ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to appeal a decision about a request.
To make a request, email lr@bindly.insure. We may need to verify your identity. If Bindly processes your information on behalf of an insurance agency, we may direct your request to that agency.
9. Children
Bindly is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our website or account-registration process.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
